John Holman, M.S., has seven years of Department of Defense
experience and has been directly involved in counterterrorism. Mr.
Holman has overseas deployment experience in Europe, Middle East, and
Asia. His current research interests includes trauma, emergency
management, and veterans healthcare.
Sonia (Xiaoxia) Song, M. A., has some counseling experience at the Counseling Center of Shanghai University and work experience at Fudan University on cross-cultural therapeutic research. Her primary research interest is in cultural differences in therapeutic methods. She is the Research

e in China as part of an cross-cultural validation effort for the STS model. Her clinical interests include depression and substance abuse. In her spare time, she watches traditional Chinese opera and plays flute.
David Verdirame is working toward a PhD in clinical psychology at Pacific
Graduate School of Psychology. He is due to graduate in 2012. As a
member of the Beutler Bandits research team, he plans to collect
empirical data on the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions. In
his spare time, Dave plays the drums and reads the occasional book.

Satoko Kimpara, Ph.D. Post-doctoral Fellow, Study Coordinator for Systematic Treatment Selection Asia Project.
Dr. Kimpara graduated from Yokohama National University in Japan. Her pre-doctoral training included two years at the Shyness Clinic (a specialized clinic supported by PGSP & Stanford University) and completed her predoctoral internship at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, Counseling Wellness Services.
Presently, she is a postdoctoral fellow for adolescent alcohol & drug program at the Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) in San Jose, Califonria.
Her research interest is Systematic Treatment Selection (STS) which is in cross-cultural validation phase in several Asian countries. She enjoys hiking and playing traditional dance.
